3 Things To Do For Your Business Before The Year Ends
It’s hard to believe but the end of 2016 is only three weeks away! Before Christmas whisks us off we wanted to share a few things you could do for your business before the year ends. Even though December is a busy time for many of us, it’s important to prepare a little for what’s to come. After all, it’s so nice to end the year on a high note, and start the next one with a clean slate.
CATCH UP ON RECORDS
Even though it’s a hectic time of year, now is the perfect time to catch up on things like income and tracking expenses – even if it’s just collecting those straggling receipts or downloading your PayPal and bank statements. Many of us start the year with the best financial intentions, but by the time we reach December it looks like nothing happened after June. Get organised before the year ends so that your finances are all sorted (which will make it so much easier at tax time) and you can start afresh in January.
WRAP UP PROJECTS
For some, business doesn’t change much over the festive period, but for many it’s one of the busiest times of year. As well as all the personal commitments we have over December there are usually work-related things we want to wrap up before the year is over. This might mean preparing a sale for January or simply tying up any loose ends with client work. If you have anything that needs finishing or checking off your to-do list, get started on it now.
REFLECT
I know that December is a crazy month but now is the best time to reflect back on the year. Self-reflection is a key tool to running a successful business, especially if you work alone, with no one to recap the year’s successes and give a motivational pre-2017 talk. Taking time to think back on everything you’ve accomplished as well as anything that might need improving is a great way of getting your mind ready for 2017.
