It’s almost that time of year – when schools throw their doors open once again and the normal routine is back – which means that school photography is about to be in full swing. So, we thought we’d do a quick checklist so that you can be fully prepared for the back to school week.
WHICH LABS ARE YOU USING?
If you haven’t already, have a quick look at which labs you’re partnered with. You want to make sure that these labs are fulfilling the right needs for your business. Remember, that on theimagefile you have the ability to use the best labs in the business, and can select different labs for different galleries.
HOW ARE YOU GOING TO SET UP YOUR GALLERIES?
Protection and privacy are paramount. You therefore need to have a plan for setting up your galleries. Most likely you will want to use password protected galleries, but are you going to password protect the school, class or child? The choice is yours.
ARE YOU GOING TO USE TRADITIONAL PROOFING CARDS?
This is a really nice feature to offer the school and many people like the traditional proofing card as well as online proofing. If you want to set up this feature you can either research your preferred labs options or if a member of theimagefile, check out our complete online solution for school photographers which does everything for you.
HOW WILL YOU KNOW WHO IS WHO?
Have a plan of action for the day. The last thing you need is to get home and have to spend hours working out which child is which. Many school photographers use a white board with the child’s name, id number or reference on it for the first image in the sitting or a similar system. Whatever you use, find something that works for you and is easy to use.
Hopefully this checklist helped and makes you feel a little more prepared for back to school. Also you can always sign up for our complete online solution for school photographers which covers everything you need!
