The summer months are a busy time for all of us; it’s wedding season, the schools are about to break up and many of us are going to take some well-earned r ‘n’ r. This tends to mean that many of us are working “nose to the grind stone”, however you might find that a day off can be just as beneficial for your business as a fully packed schedule.
Taking a day or two off means that you have some time to concentrate on those admin tasks that, let’s be honest, often end up on the back burner. Maybe now is the time to get your paperwork sorted, those emails replied to, those figures noted down and that office spring cleaned.
Spending some time away from your business gives you a chance to re-evaluate things. Maybe you’ve been feeling that your website design is lacking something? Perhaps your marketing could do with an overhaul? Or maybe you’ve had some great ideas that you haven’t had a chance to put into place yet? Taking a couple of days off is a great chance to re-evaluate your business as a whole.
Sometimes we all need a bit of inspiration. Use a day or two to search through magazines, Pinterest, Instagram and blogs for some new inspiration for your business. This could be a a new marketing strategy, photography technique or style that you could try in the future.
You’re never too old to learn something new. Use a day off to research, read or attend a workshop about something new. You never know, it might be the next turning point for your business.
Sometimes we all just need to clear our minds and recharge our batteries. Use a day to spend time with your family, take your dog for a walk, focus on a hobby, get your house in order. Whatever it is that makes you feel rejuvenated, do that!
Do you have any plans for your next day off? What would you do for your business during your free time?
