Today we wanted to showcase a great looking website created by our Website Design team in collaboration with portrait and wedding photographer Philip Lord. In our opinion this website manages to display Philip’s wonderful artistic talent while still marketing his business to the max!
In Philip’s own words:
I have two websites with theimagefile, one for my wedding photography and the other mainly for family photography. I felt that both sites were in need of a make over. I wanted something more bespoke and modern, and of course, customer friendly. I decided to use the excellent web design service offered by Theimagefile. I’m very pleased with the results. The web designer was brilliant, I simply explained what I needed and she created two splendid websites for me. She kept me informed throughout the design process and gave me some really good advice. I booked three weddings within a week of the wedding site going live, which just goes to prove the power of a well designed website. I give Theimagefile web design service ten out of ten and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a custom built site.
Despite Philip requiring two specialist websites, it was also important that both businesses had continuity rather than looking totally different. For this reason we used a header design and chose a highlight colour that would work for both sites and could be used throughout. This creates a consistent and timeless colour scheme.
The first thing you may notice when browsing through either of Philip Lord’s sites is that the layout is designed to be clean, sophisticated and simple. The use of drop down menus means that the navigation bar displays all the information that a potential client might want to know without it appearing cluttered. This makes using Philip’s website a pleasant experience.
We have often talked about how offers and discounts can boost your business and increase your customer base. Philip is a master of calls to action and throughout his site there are gift vouchers, discounts and offers on display. Similarly, it’s a lovely touch that all of the offers are shown in the same colour scheme as the rest of the site, reaffirming that idea of continuity.
Finally, Philip is very transparent when it comes to what his business is offering. Within both websites there are nav items titled “details” or “prices”. Within these drop down menus there is a tab for each genre of photography that Philip specialises in, for example; family, pets and couples which then clearly outlines each package, gift voucher, offer and price available. This is so important for customers as no one wants to contact a business only to find out that they are in a different bracket.
