New Padding Update!

Posted on July 2, 2015 by Elsa under Coffee Break, New and Improved Features, Theimagefile

Today we would like to tell you about a padding update that is now available within theimagefile. Previously, in order to pad files you uploaded the correct number of zeros would have to be added to the file number e.g. 001, 002, 003 and so on and we provided various tools in the collection tool bar for you to easily pad your file names after upload. Now to save you time and effort it is possible to automatically pad any files during upload. We have set this as a default feature for new clients however it is possible also to set the feature as default if you are an existing member.

To set up automatic padding:

1. Log in to theimagefile > My Images > Collection and File Defaults > File and Coll. Display Settings.

2. Scroll to “Sorting”. Alter the number of digits future file uploads will be padded to e.g. if you upload collections to a thousand files or more then you will need to pad to 4 digits. If you are uploading collections of hundreds of files then you will need to pad to 3 digits.

3. If you would like to turn off automatic padding simply follow the steps above setting padding to 0 digits.
