We are excited to announce the launch of our new pop-up box feature. This feature has been highly anticipated and is designed to help you market your business to clients and boost your sales and bookings.

What Is A Pop-Up Box?

A pop-up box is a box that displays on a website periodically, according to its programmed schedule. For example, it can display on every page on a website or, alternatively, on one particular web page, such as the home page.

A pop-up box is usually designed to initiate a desired action from a visitor. For example, it could be used to encourage a visitor to purchase a product, book a session, spend over a certain amount, follow your business on social media or sign up to a mailing list.

Why Should You Use One?

The short answer is that pop-up boxes work and really can help to convert site visitors into loyal customers.

A visitor’s attention span is short and can easily drift away from the information you really want them to see and act on. Pop-up boxes help to isolate a visitor’s attention to the most important thing. For example, a call-to-action, form, important information, special offers or upcoming events.

When Should You Use One?

There are lots of situations when a pop-up box would be a great addition to your website – from advertising a special offer to asking visitors to sign up to your mailing list.

To get your creative juices flowing we have come up with just a few ways you could use pop-up boxes to boost your own business.

Encourage visitors to sign up to your mailing list.

This is probably what a pop-up box is most commonly used for.

If you have a mailing list you will, no doubt, want to do as much as possible to encourage visitors to sign up. However, visitors cannot sign up to a mailing list they don’t know exists.

Using a pop-up box is an easy and polite way of asking visitors to sign up. You can even add extra encouragement by offering visitors something in return for their sign up. For example, a free downloadable guide to making the most of their wedding day, a 10% discount on their next purchase or free shipping.

Direct your visitors to your contact page so that they can easily get in touch.

Depending on your business, the main aim of your website could be to increase bookings. Therefore, you need to do everything you can to get visitors onto your contact page. Using a pop-up box is a great way of encouraging clients to act now and get in touch.

Encourage sales and bookings or visitors to sign up to your mailing list by offering them a special discount.

Visitors are more likely to act on your call-to-action if they receive something in return. Encourage extra sales, bookings or mailing list sign-ups by offering a special discount through your pop-up box.

Encourage visitors to join and follow you on social media.

If you are active on social media you want to do everything you can to encourage more followers. Make it obvious to visitors that you are on various social media platforms with a pop-up. You could even encourage followers by making it clear that your social media is the place to be if they want to benefit from special discounts, offers and early access to sessions.

Boost sales by offering a special discount if visitors pre-pay for a session.

We all want our clients to make that purchase or book that session, but in the current climate, pre-paying for services has never been more important. Why not offer visitors a special discount if they pre-pay for their session? A win for you and your customer!

If you are offering a new package or mini session, tell your clients so they can easily book.

If you offer various packages, sessions or seasonal/holiday mini sessions, let your visitors know with a pop-up. Not only does this get your new package or session in front of your target audience on a regular basis, but also encourages them to act quickly and book that session!

How To Set Up A Pop-Up Box?

To create a pop-up box you first need to decide what page you want to be displayed as your pop-up. For example, your existing contact page or a page created solely for the purpose of being a pop-up.

Once you have your pop-up page ready, go to My Websites > Customise Design > Notifications > click the link “embed a new pop-up form”.

On this page you can select the page you want to use as your pop-up, set a date period for the pop-up to be displayed over (e.g. 1 November – 24 December), what page or pages you would like the pop-up to display on and what happens when a visitor closes your pop-up box (e.g. hide the pop-up for 24 hours, 30 days or forever).
